Mental Health Support Team
Our school has access to the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST), a school-based service linked to CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services). MHST focuses on early intervention and prevention, promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing across the school community.
The MHST supports both primary and secondary schools across the borough, offering a whole-school approach. They provide evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, such as anxiety or low mood.
At our school, the MHST:
-
Works directly with students through targeted support, including small groups focusing on topics such as exam anxiety, emotional regulation, low mood, and distress tolerance.
-
Delivers assemblies and workshops to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing.
-
Supports our Mental Health Lead in developing a robust, school-wide approach through consultations and signposting.
-
Offers regular online parent webinars on a variety of topics related to young people’s emotional wellbeing.
If you are concerned about your child’s mental health, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Ms Miranda van Manen.
If your child or young person would like to discuss their emotional needs, they are welcome to make a self-referral for a school consultation.
