Sporting highlights 2017-2018

Clarendon School competed in the London Youth Games athletics competition, which is known for being the largest athletics competition for special needs children within the UK. Claudia came 1st in her 100m sprint event with a phenomenal time of 17 seconds. The other notable performance came from Michelle who came 2nd in her 200m sprint event. The pupils trained for the event at the University of St Mary's running track in preparation. Please contact Mr Collins if you're interested in your child attending the magnificent training and event for next year.

Throughout the year the pupils competed in a host of sporting competitions, such examples included the Surrey Special School football and hockey competitions. In the football competition Clarendon School managed to put out both KS3 & KS4 5-a-side football teams. These teams competed over twelve competitive fixtures and fared pretty well. Clarendon School would like to offer a big thank you to Miss Price and to the girls who participated in the competition. The amount of girls participating this year exceeded the number in recent years. In Hockey, the Year 7s battled hard and came 3rd out of 6 schools. This again was a superb performance.

Clarendon School put on an amazing Sports Day this year. Pupils got a chance to compete at 16 different sporting circuits in the morning and against each other in the afternoon races after. A big thank you to the Year 10's who led the activities excellently on the day, which contributed towards their Btec qualification in sport and leisure. Overall it was a great day and yellow house took the overall winnings.
