School Information

A warm welcome to Clarendon School’s website, where I invite you to discover everything that makes our community truly remarkable.

It is an honour to have been appointed as the school’s new headteacher this year, and I hope to nurture and build upon the achievements of the previous head, John Kipps, in his 17 years at the helm.

Clarendon School, with the Gateway Centre, were again judged to be Outstanding in all areas by OfSTED in January 2019.

Our journey in recent years has been marked by significant transformation and growth. Becoming part of the Auriga Academy Trust and expanding across two new sites has allowed us to redevelop our school and enhance our facilities. These changes have helped to nurture our curriculum, supporting our students in achieving not only academic excellence, but also greater independence and social growth. A unique feature of our buildings is that the majority are co-located with local mainstream schools, enabling us to foster valuable partnerships that open doors for inclusive opportunities.

The coming years will bring further exciting developments for the school,  including the construction of a new, purpose-built site in Petersham, due to open in September 2025. When complete, we will be able to offer an even wider range of curriculum opportunities for learners with complex needs.

As the Headteacher of Clarendon School and the Gateway Centre, I am privileged to lead a community filled with dedicated staff and, most importantly, our inspiring pupils. We believe in the power of collaboration and strive to work hand in hand with parents. If you have any questions or need further information, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

If you are the parent or carer of a prospective pupil, you may be interested in booking a place on one of our regular open mornings. Please contact our family support worker Miss Maisie Dean (email: for more information.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you enjoy exploring all that Clarendon School has to offer. Your interest and involvement are key to our success, and I look forward to welcoming you for a visit.
